Find your Android Device ID in your Smartphone

 Find your Android Device ID

All Android smartphones are identified by Google. It uses a unique 16 character alphanumeric code. This code is called the “Device ID”. This device ID gets generated when you first time boot your Android device. This device ID doesn’t get deleted even if you boot after that and stays there permanently. In this article, we are going to find your android device ID.

There are two conditions when this device ID gets changed. First, when we reset our device to factory defaults, this particular ID is overwritten and re-generated again.

Second, if you install a new ROM(Custom ROM) then this device ID can be overwritten and re-generated. Android smartphone OS is known as ROM.  If you want to see the device ID then it is not that easy to get it. You will not get it from Android settings. But you can find this easily using below two quick methods:

Method # 1

There is a free app called “Device ID” which can be used to find the device ID of your Android smartphone easily. You can download this app from the Google Play store (Device ID). Once this app is installed in your Android device, you can launch it and it will display the device ID on the top. You can also tap on the device ID to copy it to clipboard, share it with others, and so on. The app has many more features, you can try them out as well.

Method # 2

This method requires the Developer option to be enabled on your smartphone. If you are not aware of how to enable the developer menu in Android then please visit the link. Once the developer menu is enabled then you will see a USB debugging option. This will show the device ID of your Android smartphone, you won’t need any apps to find the device ID.

Then you have to connect your Android device to your PC using USB cable and give the command “adb shell settings get secure android_id” in a command prompt. This command will display the device ID for your Android smartphone instantly.

If you get null, blank or a dummy device ID (like 123457890ABCDEF), then you would need either a factory reset of your device so that it can generate a new device ID or you can contact the device manufacturer for getting your device ID fixed.
